FMC Programming from Scratch
You will program an FMC from a blank CDU — origin, destination, route, performance init, and departure — without SimBrief doing it for you.
About this lesson
Most sim pilots import from SimBrief and never learn what the FMC actually needs. Your tutor walks you through manual entry on the 737 or A320 CDU, page by page, until you understand every field.
Why a human tutor? FMC pages are dense. A tutor watches you navigate them and catches the missed field that would cause VNAV to misbehave at FL350.
What you'll learn
- ✓IDENT, POS INIT, and ROUTE pages — what each field means
- ✓Entering airways and waypoints manually
- ✓Performance init — weights, CG, cost index
- ✓Selecting and verifying a SID
- ✓Crosschecking the FMC route against your chart
- ✓Common FMC errors and how to fix them
Prerequisites
- •A study-level airliner (PMDG 737, Fenix A320, or similar)
- •Basic understanding of flight plans
