RNAV/GPS Approach Fundamentals
You will fly an RNAV GPS approach from initial fix to minimums, manage the FMS lateral and vertical guidance, and go missed when required.
About this lesson
RNAV approaches are everywhere now, but the FMS setup and monitoring are different from ILS. Your tutor walks you through loading, verifying, and flying GPS approaches — including the traps that catch people on LP, LPV, and LNAV+V guidance.
Why a human tutor? RNAV approaches have subtle FMS traps that cause silent failures. A tutor catches them before you fly through minimums on the wrong guidance.
