- Turn the HDG knob to set the heading bug to 090°.
The heading bug marks a heading for reference and for the autopilot HDG mode.
- Turn the ALT knob to set the altitude bug to 4,500 ft.
On the G1000 the altitude selector IS the autopilot altitude target.
- Turn the BARO knob to set the altimeter to 30.12 inHg.
Always set the current altimeter setting so your indicated altitude is correct.
