Step-by-step: Meet the PFD

  1. Turn the HDG knob to set the heading bug to 090°.

    The heading bug marks a heading for reference and for the autopilot HDG mode.

  2. Turn the ALT knob to set the altitude bug to 4,500 ft.

    On the G1000 the altitude selector IS the autopilot altitude target.

  3. Turn the BARO knob to set the altimeter to 30.12 inHg.

    Always set the current altimeter setting so your indicated altitude is correct.
