Step-by-step: Descend with Vertical Speed

  1. Set the altitude bug down to 3,000 ft.

    The selected altitude is the floor the GFC 700 will capture.

  2. Select VS mode, then use NOSE▼ to set −500 fpm.

    VS holds the vertical-speed reference you dial until ALT capture.

  3. Let it descend and capture 3,000 ft.

    A steady VS descent that levels cleanly at altitude is the goal.
