- Press the CDI softkey to select NAV1 (VOR/LOC) as the navigation source.
GPS guidance is magenta; VOR/LOC (NAV1) guidance is green. The HSI names the source by what NAV1 has active: VOR1 here, because 110.00 is a VOR frequency, and LOC1 when a localizer is active. Selecting NAV1 also moves the cyan tuning box onto the NAV1 standby frequency, and NAV1's active frequency turns green.
- Press the CDI softkey again to select NAV2.
NAV2 is drawn with a double-line course pointer, so you can tell VOR2/LOC2 from VOR1/LOC1 at a glance. The tuning box moves to the NAV2 standby, and NAV2's active frequency is now the green one.
- Press the CDI softkey a third time to return to GPS.
On GPS both active NAV frequencies go white, because neither radio is selected, and the tuning box stays on NAV2. Get in the habit of confirming your active source before every approach.
